Personal Aid Program

Rent or mortgage assistance is available for persons who are off work on medical leave or because of hospitalization, are employed and are able to return to their job when released by the doctor. Other assistance available under this program: prescription fill/refill payments; clothing referrals; purchase or rental of medically related items, transient aid.  Giant print bibles for seniors and people with vision problems.  Ensure/Boost is provided when there is a medical need.

A hand up, not a hand out.

SHARE & Round-Up Programs

The SHARE and Round-Up Programs are administered by Personal Aid for the City of LaGrange and Diverse Power. A voluntary contribution by customers of these utilities, added to their monthly utility bills, provides funds for the SHARE program. The City of LaGrange Utilities Round-Up Program rounds a customer's bill to the next whole dollar. Round-Up funds are available for customers with a City of LaGrange utility or water bill only. Assistance is based on income, and is limited to once a year.

Meet ALICE

ALICE, an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained,

Employed, is a new way of defining and understanding the

struggles of households that earn above the Federal Poverty

Level, but not enough to afford a bare-bones household budget.

More information about this initiative may be found at United Way of West Georgia.
